Factory Overview

A Luoyang-based bonded abrasives manufacturer

Youlin Abrasive is a Luoyang-based bonded abrasives manufacturer with 20+ years of manufacturing experience, focused on resin-bond, vitrified-bond, and rubber-bond grinding wheels for industrial grinding applications.

The factory covers about 7,000 square meters and is equipped with more than 40 production machines, supporting bonded abrasive wheel production, forming, curing and firing process control, inspection, balancing, and packaging preparation. As a direct grinding wheel manufacturer, we handle bonded abrasive wheel production, inspection, balancing, and packaging preparation in our own factory — rather than simply reselling standard products. We control the abrasive grain selection, bond formulation, forming, firing or curing, dimension inspection, balance checking, and protective packing in-house.

Our team has practical production experience in bonded abrasives and operates with structured production management and quality control. Our grinding wheels have long-term supporting supply experience with multiple large domestic bearing and rolling-element manufacturers in China. These applications give us practical understanding of the requirements that matter in industrial grinding: production stability, dimensional consistency, surface finish quality, and cost-effective grinding performance.

Manufacturing Process

How grinding wheels are produced

Each grinding wheel follows a controlled sequence from raw material through finished product — mixing, forming, thermal processing, inspection, and packaging.

Material Mixing

Abrasive grains, bond materials, and additives are weighed and mixed to specification for each wheel formula.

Wheel Pressing & Forming

The mixed compound is pressed into molds under controlled pressure to form the wheel shape and structure.

Temperature Control Curve

Wheels follow a controlled heating, holding, and cooling profile matched to the bond type and wheel dimensions.

Hardness & Balance Inspection

Each wheel is checked for hardness consistency, dimensional accuracy, and rotational balance before packing.

Packaging Preparation

Protective packing with wooden cases, foam support, and moisture-resistant wrapping for export shipment.

Quality Control

Controlled production process with ISO9001 quality management

Process Control

Temperature Control Curve in Grinding Wheel Manufacturing

Vitrified bond, resin bond, and rubber bond grinding wheels each follow a controlled temperature processing curve. The heating rate, maximum hold temperature, hold duration, and cooling rate are matched to the bond formulation and wheel dimensions. Consistent temperature control supports predictable wheel hardness, bond strength, and grinding performance across production batches.

Conceptual illustration. Actual temperature control curves are specific to each wheel specification — including bond formulation, wheel dimensions, abrasive type, and hardness grade. This diagram illustrates the general shape and relative temperature range of each process; it does not display measured production data.

Temperature Control Curve

Consistent heating, holding, and cooling profiles for each bond type help maintain predictable grinding wheel hardness and structure batch to batch.

Temperature Stability

Controlled ramp rates and hold times reduce the risk of uneven hardness distribution within a single wheel, which can cause inconsistent grinding performance.

Temperature Fluctuation Control

Monitoring and limiting temperature fluctuation during production helps narrow the hardness tolerance range across wheels of the same specification.

Hardness Consistency

Stable temperature control is one of the key production factors that supports consistent wheel hardness, which in turn supports predictable material removal rates and surface finish.

Stable Grinding Performance

When wheel hardness is consistent, the grinding operation sees less variation in cutting behavior, dressing intervals, and power draw — supporting more predictable production output.

Wheel Life Stability

Controlled production conditions — including temperature control — contribute to wheel-to-wheel consistency in wear rate and service life under the same grinding conditions.

Bond Process Details

How each bond type is processed

Each bond system — vitrified, resin, and rubber — requires a specific temperature processing approach to achieve the target wheel hardness, structure, and grinding characteristics.

Vitrified Bond Temperature Control

Vitrified bond grinding wheels are processed in high-temperature kilns with controlled heating and cooling curves. The temperature, ramp rate, hold time, and cooling profile directly affect wheel hardness, bond strength, porosity, and grinding performance. Our production team monitors kiln temperature control curves to maintain batch-to-batch consistency for each wheel specification.

Resin Bond Curing

Resin bond grinding wheels are cured in temperature-controlled ovens. The curing temperature, time, and ramp profile must be matched to the resin system and wheel dimensions. Proper curing ensures the bond holds abrasive grains securely while allowing controlled grain fracture during grinding for consistent cutting performance.

Rubber Bond Vulcanization

Rubber bond grinding wheels are processed through controlled vulcanization cycles. Temperature, pressure, and time parameters are adjusted according to wheel dimensions and rubber compound formulation to achieve the target wheel hardness and elasticity for the intended grinding application.

Batch Consistency

For repeat orders, we reference previous production records — abrasive batch, bond formulation, pressing parameters, and temperature control records — to reproduce the same wheel characteristics. This consistency is important for industrial buyers who rely on predictable grinding results in their production lines.

Quality Checks

Inspection at key production stages

Each grinding wheel is inspected for dimensional accuracy, hardness consistency, balance, and surface quality before packing.

Dimension Check

Outer diameter, bore size, and thickness are measured against the wheel specification and drawing requirements.

Hardness Consistency

Wheel hardness is checked to confirm the specified grade is achieved and consistent within each production batch.

Balance Inspection

Rotational balance is verified to support stable grinding operation and reduce machine vibration risk.

Surface & Edge Review

Visual inspection of wheel surface finish, edge condition, and overall appearance before protective packing.
